  • Create an affordable program to help broaden student access to Test preparation and higher education
  • Provide students with the only testing practice created by the test maker

Our preparation resources are both individually useful and designed to work together. You can select resources to:

The value of a Rigorous Curriculum

While our resources can provide valuable insight and experience with any Test, there is no substitute for a rigorous curriculum and test-taking experience that includes English, mathematics, science, history, and other academic subjects. Students should also be encouraged to read extensively and develop good writing, critical and analytical thinking skills.

Career Guidance/Aptitude Assessment

Career Guidance/Aptitude Assessment

GPGS assess student abilities and we provide knowledge of their aptitudes that will help them in making decisions about school and their careers. Students have taken advantage of our service to learn more about themselves and to derive more satisfaction from their lives.

Aptitudes

Aptitudes are natural talents, special abilities for doing, or learning to do, certain kinds of things. Perceptual speed, musical ability, spatial visualization, and memory for numbers are examples of such aptitudes. In a comprehensive battery of tests available only through the Foundation, these and many other aptitudes are measured. These measured traits are highly stable over long-term periods. Every occupation—whether it is engineering, medicine, law, or management—uses certain aptitudes. The work you are most likely to enjoy and be successful in is work that uses your aptitudes. For example, if you are an engineer but possess aptitudes not used in engineering, your work might seem unrewarding. If you lack the engineer's aptitudes, your work may be difficult or unpleasant. Aptitude testing is one tool for career selection. It can help you find where your aptitudes lie, what type of work uses those aptitudes, and why certain occupations may be more rewarding than others. The Foundation, however, does not provide employment counseling services. What the Foundation does is give you an inventory of your aptitudes and examples of types of work suggested by the combination of these aptitudes based on our Self-Directed Search.

You should have your aptitudes measured if you:

  • are a high school or college student, because our program can help you select a major field of study and an appropriate type of school.
  • are unhappy in your job, because understanding your aptitudes can help direct you to more satisfying work in your field, or could suggest a more satisfying career. Sometimes a minor change can make the difference between satisfaction and frustration, between success and failure.
  • haven't worked for some time and are considering a return to the job market. Knowledge of your aptitudes may help you decide what kind of job to look for.
  • face a decision about promotion or transfer within your company. Knowledge of your aptitudes may help you make that decision.
  • are about to retire, as the information gained can help you use your retirement years more fruitfully.
  • wish to learn about the nature of aptitudes and how they affect human behavior.

GPGS test people fourteen years of age or older. There is no upper age limit. Our test is comprehensive. Some people hesitate to take our tests because they might “fail.” It is impossible to pass or fail our program. In many cases, a low score on a particular test may be preferable to a high score. Satisfaction in a job depends not on how many aptitudes you possess, but on the combination of high and low scores, and whether that aptitude pattern is used in your work.

A poor school record or lack of schooling should not be a deterrent to going through our program because aptitudes are not based upon knowledge or educational background. It should be noted, however, that the test results may not be accurate for those for whom English is a second language. Adults who decide to go through our testing program should be prepared to accept results that might be difficult to put into practice because of personal circumstances though in many cases the gains in self-knowledge make aptitude testing worthwhile. If you have a physical or mental impairment or learning disability or are taking strong medication, your scores may not be accurate. Most of the tests are timed; your scores are determined by how fast and accurate you are. After reading our literature, you should carefully consider whether testing would be suitable. We cannot make this decision for you... Call us today!

Diagnostic Testing

Diagnostic Testing

Diagnostic tests measure students' understanding of a subject area or skill base. GPGS typically administer diagnostics for reading and math skills, using the results to provide remedial instruction or place students within appropriately leveled classes. Our teachers, though, give formative assessments to gauge what knowledge students bring to class. GPGS also diagnose concepts as a whole, aiming to reveal commonly held misconceptions in specific subjects.

Each student is assessed on their first day and is routinely given assessments during their time with us to determine progress and specific learning patterns. Student progress is also monitored individually and is looked at by our counselor who makes further recommendations when necessary.

Test Scoring

Test Scoring

  • A breakdown of the student's scores, including the types of questions, level of difficulty, and how many in each group of questions the student answered correctly, answered incorrectly, or omitted
  • Information about what those scores mean, with enhanced percentile information to help better compare the student’s performance with other groups of test-takers

Counselors at GPGS can use these reports to guide students as they make decisions about taking additional courses, applying to college or university, and choosing a major. Colleges and universities can use these reports to make admissions and placement decisions.

Official score reports are provided about five weeks after the test is administered to the student and a high school copy is sent to us. Any college, university, or scholarship program listed during registration will also receive the score report provided that student starts the placement process with us at that time. Scores are delivered to us by the Internet, CD-ROM, and/or paper, as requested by GPGS. GPGS also have access to images of student essays associated with the score reporting delivery.

Why study abroad?

Why study abroad?

The US alone has a population of over 300 million people. There are over 4,000 public and private colleges, universities, and community colleges, which enroll almost 15 million students, and more than 600,000 of these are international students. Opportunities are greater and diverse, whatever your interest or preference, we can match you with a college or university.

Student Loan

Student Loans for International and Study Abroad Students

If you are looking for a student loan to fund your international education, we can help. Whether you are an international student in the US or a US student studying abroad – finding a student loan doesn't have to be difficult and with our student loan comparison tool you can find the right loan in seconds – and then apply online.

Why International Student Loans?

Studying overseas is expensive, and many students struggle to fund their international studies. Scholarships and grants are available in full, but competitive. A loan can cover up to the total cost of attendance, as determined by your school, minus any other aid received.

Here are just a few of the costs your international student loan will cover:

  • Tuition
  • Room and board
  • Books and supplies
  • Travel and transportation
  • Health insurance
  • Living expenses

Even if you already have been awarded financial aid and scholarships, you may find that you are still coming up short. In cases like these, international student loans can cover the difference – or they can cover the total cost of your education.

Responsible Student Borrowing

International student loans provide a convenient way for students to borrow money and fund their education. Students – and their cosigners – will be expected to pay back the total amount of money borrowed plus an additional cost (determined by your interest rate) in most cases. You and your cosigner should be aware of the terms and conditions to ensure that you have the ability to pay back your loan timely.

Importance of a Cosigner

A cosigner is a person who is legally-binding on a loan application to pay the outstanding debt in case the applicant is unable to pay. All non-US citizens and most US students are required to have a cosigner to secure a loan. Your co-signer must be a US citizen or US permanent resident with good credit who has lived in the US for the past 2 years. Finding the right cosigner can improve the likelihood of approval and can decrease your interest rate considerably.

GPGS Foundation Grant

Global Foundation Grant

College students can benefit from a GPGS grant, which can help offset their higher education costs. Our grant program is a prolific financial aid source that has been tapped by countless students and we can only thank our financial donors from 2015 and onwards. Grants are often written with multiple agendas in mind. Funding higher education for cash-strapped college kids is the primary concern of the GPGS grant, but the funds would also be used to increase college access for underrepresented students in our community.
